Technocumbia Dance Practice with Sharon Mercado Nogales
TECHNOCUMBIA is a dance practice, inspired by the archive of the dance contest "Sábados Populares” in the '90s Bolivia and the current Andean cumbia videoclips. This practice combines movements of the High Energy and Euro-classics from the '80s, which migrated to South America with Andean Cumbia dances. Sharon Mercado Nogales is a dancer/ choreographer from the Bolivian Andes based in Berlin. She's constantly seeking to provoke the current cultural spectrum through body and movement by working with the resignification of dance and music materials. In her work, she incorporates autobiographical and contextual archives that go through an exercise of memory, by putting the knowledge of her ancestors and her current life experience as conditions to rethink and transform them. Creating spaces for dance and performance that could move bodies and feelings. In the last years, she developed the dance practice "Technocumbia" and currently she's part of the collectives "cobracobra" and "Moviendo Territorios".

Radical Sounds Latin America
Radical Sounds Latin America is a platform and yearly festival based in Berlin showcasing innovative talent from Latam and its diasporas, working in the fields of sound, performance, and theory. Since we began our activities in 2019 we have been celebrating artistic proposals that go beyond the confines of the Eurocentric mainstream, that is, interested in experimentalism and new perspectives on sound, in listening to emerging and marginalized communities; and in the academic realm, in the politics of listening from the Global South. With an emphasis on building dialogues of mutual support, Radical Sounds Latin America has become a meeting point for our community. An engaging space for the Latin American diaspora, and a larger audience who are interested in experimenting and experiencing new sounds.
