In the not-so-distant past, the flyer was the primary means of communication among ravers around the world. Different crews and venues developed their own unique aesthetic, drawing inspiration from DIY culture, futurism, tribal art and comics. In turn, their output had a huge impact on the art and fashion scenes. Alongside the music, the visual works of underground techno and rave culture have always played a huge part in shaping the identity of their communities as well as the way their sounds were perceived. For the first week of October 2023, the music and event collective WARNING will transform the premises of Gelegenheiten in Neukölln into a time machine. They will send visitors on a journey through several decades in the world of flyer art and rave design. In addition to an exciting collection of real paper works, the multi-room exhibition will feature digital media elements such as a selection of Berlin-themed music videos and some trippy early rave visuals. Each day will also feature selected DJ performances by artists from the WARNING crew.

Warning, which was supposed to be a one-off party in 2017, quickly became an institution for ravers and music lovers in Berlin. Over the years, the project grew and developed into a multi-faceted platform for releases and events. Connecting the dots between 90s rave sounds, UK breaks and psychedelic trance, while enthusiastically pushing for the revival of the chill-out room.
