SUBVERTED. NEVER CONFORMING.
To kick off the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR Festival week, the queer Dark-Industrial-Techno label SUBVERTED has prepared a sex-positive club night on October 2nd at Untertage. The night will be characterized by industrial-like, EBM-inspired, and hypnotic Techno DJ sets by Ireen Amnes, Christ Initials, Nnamael, and Fluid. Additionally, you can expect a BUTOH performance, occasionally referred to as "Anti-Dance," by Valentin Tszin. There will also be free haircuts provided by the experimental community project BUTCH CUT, specializing in boosting confidence for Butch, Trans, and non-binary individuals. Furthermore, an art exhibition titled "Chaos in Character Development" by Angelina Mass will be on display. This exhibition explores themes such as sexuality and migration, corporeality and pain, longing and depression, and references subcultures of (post-) punk and queer aesthetics. It reinterprets and exaggerates emotions and narcissism from social networks and digital platforms.

SUBVERTED
SUBVERTED IS A QUEER RECORD LABEL, WORKSHOP PLATFORM AND SEX-POSITIVE EVENT SERIES, FOCUSING ON THE DARKER GENRES OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC, RANGING FROM DRONE AND NOISE TO HYPNOTIC AND INDUSTRIAL TECHNO.
Their aim is to platform creatives with gender and sexual identities that are under-represented in the music industry, showing that it is possible to have more inclusive and diverse booking practices without a decrease in musical quality, but in fact with an increase by bringing new and previously unheard perspectives to the dance floor.
Discovering and nurturing new talent is at the very essence of SUBVERTED. They stand in resistance to the homogenisation and sanitisation to which the techno industry has been subjected in recent years via formulaic, easily-digested productions and repetitive line-ups, and intend to continue opening the industry's gates for a new generation of artists that are pushing their own unique and fresh take on dark industrial techno.
