Open Music Lab Presents
Open Music Lab is proud to be one of the collectives to have received the Tag der Clubkultur award this year. For our event, we want to focus on what we do best, and will present some multidisciplinary collaborations between different artists and members of our community. The event will start with a workshop by MINQ, called Sonic Utopia, focusing on deep listening, and followed by some dj sets, live music and performances by some of our community members, extended family and friends. The event takes place at Kwia, our favourite cozy listening bar and neighbourhood place. MINQ will play a DJ set accompanied by poetry from Sailesh Naidu. Kimia Bani will play the Daf, accompanied by a live set by Ben Osborn. King Sleepy will play a DJ set accompanied by a performance from dancer and contortionist Jade Lee. And Abibi and ophélie will play b2b.

open music lab
Open Music Lab is an inclusive community that empowers people to make their own music, with a vision to build a more equitable music scene. Rooted in the refugee community, we run a radically open space that welcomes people from all backgrounds. OML is a place where everyone is free to create, record, and share. All of our workshops and classes are free for students and provide a place for diverse communities in Berlin to come together and create. We are committed to including and supporting refugees, asylum seekers, members of the LGBTQI+ community, People of Color, and people with disabilities. We strive to create long-lasting, meaningful connections with our participants and community members, and one of our favorite things is seeing participants return in the role of mentors for new projects.
