Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees (Kuratorium) is composed of five members who bring different perspectives on Berlin club culture based on their expertise, experience and backgrounds. The Board of Trustees works independently and decides together on the awarding of prizes in a final Board of Trustees meeting.
BLEACH
BLEACH (she/her) is a drag queen from Essex, England, who received her classical training in a burlesque bar in Stockholm. She is a performer, producer, presenter and socialite darling who is punking drag and dreaming of the homosexual revolution. BLEACH performs with the Venus Boys, produces and hosts the POPPERS party series at Monster Ronson's Ichiban Karaoke, is artistic co-director of the go drag! festival and hostess at the Stockwig Drag Festival.
GUDRUN GUT
Gudrun Gut (she/her) launched her career in early 80s Berlin as part of Mania D, Einstürzende Neubauten and Malaria!. To date, her cultural work covers a huge spectrum: She has released solo albums, founded the record labels Moabit Musik and Monika Enterprise, wrote a book, hosts and produces for radioeins, organises parties with the Oceanclub collective, curates festivals and uses the Monika-Werkstatt for experimental feminist collaborations. Gudrun Gut was a member of the advisory board of Musicboard Berlin and on the artist funding jury of Initiative Musik for six years. In 2019, she received the Listen to Berlin: Award for developing and promoting Berlin's music scene.
Lolsnake
Lolsnake (she/they) is the pseudonym of Berlin-based Iraqi-American artist Danielle Lumma Rahal who works as a DJ, visual artist, curator and promoter. In her sets, she leads a journey through new- and old-school gems between hypnotic techno, euphoric trance sounds and other surprises. Lolsnake is the founder of Weeeirdos, a party series now based at Berghain's Säule, which has been bringing new and rising queer DJs and artists to the city’s ears since 2017.
Smiley Baldwin
Smiley Baldwin (he/him) was stationed in Berlin as a US soldier from 1987 to 1992. After his honourable discharge, he began working at various club doors, including Cookies, WMF, Revier Südost and Heideglühen. He recounted stories from this time in the documentary Berlin Bouncer, which was released in 2019. Since 1997, Smiley Baldwin has been CEO of his own companies Sicherheitsdienst Baldwin and Baldwin Security.
YUKO ASANUMA
Yuko Asanuma (sie /ihr) ist Musikjournalistin, Bookerin, Veranstaltungsorganisatorin zwischen Japan und Deutschland und Managerin diverser Künstler:innen mit ihrer eigenen Agentur setten. Sie schreibt regelmäßig für japanische und englische Musikmagazine und hat u. a. für Ostgut Booking, Resident Advisor, Ableton, Sound & Recording Magazine, Berlin Atonal und Poly AM gearbeitet. Fokus von Yuko Asanumas Arbeit ist es, unterrepräsentierten Künstler:innen die Möglichkeit zu geben, sichtbar zu werden und sich zu entfalten, um kulturellen Austausch und Vielfalt zu fördern.
